About
Greg Weykamp, CLARB, LEED AP, CRMP, WEDG
Greg is the President and co-founder of Edgewater. He is a lifelong boater with more than 33 years of experience, and has led the design and construction of a wide range of waterfront projects—from intimate marinas with just a few slips to large-scale facilities exceeding 1,000 slips and valued at over $100 million. His work spans mixed-use waterfront developments, public parks, and sustainable infrastructure at the water’s edge. Greg has a particular focus on sustainable and resilient waterfront and marina design, with certification as a LEED Accredited Professional, Clean and Resilient Marina Professional (CRMP), and Waterfront Edge Design Guideline (WEDG) Associate.
Greg is a recognized leader in the marina industry, with a focus on advancing sustainable design practices and promoting equitable access to waterfronts. He is a frequent speaker at national and international marina conferences, sharing insights on topics such as cost-effective renovations, long-term financial strategies, and investment protection for marina facilities. His expertise is further reflected in his written work, with numerous articles on marina design, engineering, and permitting published in Marina World and Marina Dock Age. He and his partner Jack Cox are leading the writing of the next edition of ASCE Manual 50, Planning and Design Guidelines for Small Craft Harbors, which is the standard manual for marina design in the United States.
Finally, Greg is an owner and investor in marinas, including the newly opened Navy Pier Marina in downtown Chicago, Illinois. This provides him with the perspective of owner and operator to supplement his experience in design, permitting, and engineering of marinas, along with his perspective as a marina customer as a lifelong boater.
